Alexandra Lee has over fifteen years of cello teaching experience. She has taught students from age 2 to retirement age, and from beginner to post-secondary level. Preparing students for Royal Conservatory Exams, Kiwanis competitions, and auditions is a familiar aspect of her work as a teacher.
An important element of her teaching philosophy is to introduce the joy of playing with other musicians. In addition to private lessons, she has taught group classes and masterclasses, and mentored chamber ensembles of all sizes. She has also directed adult cello ensembles and junior string ensembles.
Alexandra also introduces performance opportunities for her students in many forms, to develop their level of comfort in front of an audience. Students can look forward to playing in many different venues, from the casual “Cello Café” to the formal recital.
Alexandra is a certified Suzuki teacher, and is grateful to be able to offer all students a healthy start in their musical journey.
